Bing, the famous microsoft’s search engine, has launched its map services. They try to follow the successful Google Map innovation. You can open Bing map from this url http://www.bing.com/maps/. In my first time visit this map, I think the map’s interface looks so clean and even better than Google Map. The zoom slider and pan panel are more elegant than Google has. Bing also provide us options to explore more its map functionalities by installing silverlight in our browser. You will get benefits such as

  • Plan and share multistep itineraries with restaurants, activities, and directions.
  • Navigate streets at eye level in streetside view.
  • Experience beautiful photographic scenes with Photosynth.
  • Make new discoveries with map apps.

But if you are a Google Chrome fans, Silverlight doesn’t support for this browser. For this case, I have to use my Firefox to run again Bing map and then install Silverlight inside it. Anyway, you can see that Bing also gives us a service similar to Google Streetview called StreetSide. StreetSide currently only supports for United States area only.

If you want to feel more better experience using map from Google and Bing, our friend Jonasson has made a website to see Google Map and Bing Map side by side. It is very awesome. You can visit his website http://www.jonasson.org/maps/
