Have you tried this latest beta version of Firefox? Yes, Firefox 4 is a really beautiful browser. The interface is simpler and more elegant and almost alike Opera 10.

Firefox 4 on Windows 7

Some major changes in Firefox 4 are

1. Tabs are now on top.

This new interface by default on Windows only. Linux and Mac OS can support too depends on theme used.

2. New firefox button (the orange button)

The design of this button almost as like as Opera 10. All of old Firefox options comes here. Unfortunately, you can only get it on Windows Vista and Windows 7

3. Much more improvements

Firefox Addon: Alexa Sparky is Totally Awesome

I have just installed new addon in my Firefox. It is Alexa Sparky. I’ve never known about this addon before but I feel very satisfied using it. The aim of Alexa Sparky is to show you the Alexa rank, website trends, related links, and another information from the website you visit.

It is very recommended and useful addon if you really interesting with Alexa Two thumbs up from me!

Analyze your Website with Page Speed and YSlow

Firefox is really customized browser. You can install many addons to enhance the functionality of Firefox. There are two useful addons for analyzing your website. It means that you can see how many javascripts, css, images loaded in the website by using these addons. If you are the web developer, some tips information are also provided to you to make the website faster. These two powerful addons are Page Speed from Google and YSlow from Yahoo. By the way, these addons are integrated with Firebug web development tool addon. Therefore, you have to install it first. Lets see the more detail information about the addons. (Click the title to install it in your Firefox)

1. Page Speed

When you install Page Speed, it will add two more tabs in your Firebug. They are ‘Page Speed’ and ‘Page Speed Activity’. Tab ‘Page Speed’ is used to see what improvement tips that you can do for the website. It will also give you a score with max score is 100. Tab ‘Page Speed Activity’ has the same functionality with tab ‘Net’ from Firebug to see the loading activities for the website.

2. YSlow

YSlow analyzes your website based on their rules for high performance web pages. When you install it, you will have ‘YSlow’ Tab in Firebug. Just click ‘Run Test’ button to see things that can be improved for the website. YSlow also will give you a grade/rank. A is best score that you can get.

Beautify Your Firefox with Personas

Since Firefox 3.6, you are able to customize the look of your Firefox by using Personas. What is the different between Personas and Themes? Personas only affect the look of your Firefox without changing the navigation buttons, toolbars, and menus. Thousand of Personas have been added on Firefox’s Personas Website. Installing Personas is very easy. Here are the steps

1. Open your Firefox 3.6 (if you are using Firefox version under 3.6, you have to update it first)

2. Go to Firefox’s Personas Website.

3. Click the green download button

4. Restart your Firefox

Once Personas is installed, you will be able to change Personas by clicking on the little fox mask in the lower left corner of browser windows. You can also choose Personas from its gallery showcase. Just hover your mouse on the themes to see the preview. (nice feature)

As a website developer, Firebug is the most useful add-on. A lot of things you can do with it such as

If you usually use Firefox, you can easily install it. Here is the step
1. Go to this link from your Firefox Browser
2. Click download
3. Firebug automatically be installed into your Firefox

Firebug is also available for Chrome but it is the lite version. Here is the step to install it for Chrome

WebRank Toolbar is a Firefox addon for displaying the google pagerank, alexa, compete and quantcast of the website currently being viewed and pages indexed in three search engines (Google, Bing, Yahoo). Here is the screenshot of the addon

You can click on the button to view detail information about the rank for example if you click on Alexa button, you will be directed to alexa page show detail alexa information about the website. If you click on Google button, you will see the list of your indexed pages from your website. Installing it is very easy, run your Firefox then

FoxTab – 3D Plugin for Firefox

If you ever use Safari 4, you must know that there is one feature called TopSites which has 3D view for listing all favourite websites. Now, you can have this 3D view in Firefox using an add-on named FoxTab. This addon is really powerful and has many options and features to consider. Installing it is really really easy. From your Firefox, choose Tools -> Add-ons and type FoxTab in search input then choose install. Restart your Firefox.

Fuuh, finally you already have FoxTab installed. You can activate FoxTab by press the blue icon beside your address bar or just press the shortcut. Default is F12 or CTRL + Q. Some cool features such as you can change the type of 3D, the perspective, the background (color or image), grouping and search.

Hello everybody, have you tried Firefox 3.5? How is it? is it good? By the way, I installed Firefox 3.5 a few days ago and I’ve been browsing using it to open all my favorite websites. To get more browsing experiences, I’ve used some useful Firefox shortcuts to make my life easier. In this post, I would like to share the shortcuts for you.
