Very Cool Circle Effect in Facebook

Do you have a facebook account? I think you should try this trick. If you succeed, you will see circle effect in Facebook. Do you want to see it? Let’s follow the steps

1. Log into your Facebook

2. Go to Home or Profile Page

3. In your share status input, type this command on your keyboard

up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, Enter key, then left mouse click

2 Tips in Google Chrome to Search Text

When you want to search a text in Google Chrome, there are two simple tips that you can do. First, you select the text and right click then choose “search Google For blablabla”.

The second one is dragging the text to omnibox. Omnibox is a place where you type the url address. The step is select the text, hold it and drag it to Omnibox.

Google chrome will find the text in your default search engine automatically. So, hope these tips are useful for your Chrome daily use. ^_^

Useful Firefox 3.5 Shortcuts

Hello everybody, have you tried Firefox 3.5? How is it? is it good? By the way, I installed Firefox 3.5 a few days ago and I’ve been browsing using it to open all my favorite websites. To get more browsing experiences, I’ve used some useful Firefox shortcuts to make my life easier. In this post, I would like to share the shortcuts for you.

1. Open a new tab

Google Chrome : See Memory Usage for Each Tab

In this post, I would like to share a very useful tips when using Google Chrome. As you may know that Google Chrome separates each tabs as different process. So, if you want to know how many memory usage for each tab in Google Chrome, here is the way.

1. Go to at right top in Google Chrome Window

2. Choose “Developer” => “Task manager”

Create Application Shortcut with Google Chrome

This is such a cool feature from Chrome. If you are addicted to a website such as Facebook or Twitter, you can create a shortcut to allow you directly access your favorite website. This shortcut can be placed on Desktop, Start Menu or Quick Launch as like as common shortcut. In this post, I’m going to show the detail step how to create application shortcut with Google Chrome.

1. Open your favourite website with Google Chrome Browser
2. Go to this icon at right top of Chrome

3. Choose the most top option “Create application shortcuts…”

4. You can choose where you want to put your shortcut. There are three locations: Desktop, Shortcut Menu and Quick Launch Bar.

5. Voila……That’s it. If you choose “Desktop” you can see your shortcut there.

Next time if you want to access your favourite website, you just click this shortcut and Google Chrome will open its shortcut window. The main difference between the browser and its shorcut window is this window doesn’t have tabs, menu, address bar, and bookmark. But if you click a link in new tab inside shortcut window, it will be opened in the browser.

Submit Your Blog to Search Engine

Publishing to Twitter from Facebook Pages Tutorial

This is a new feature of Facebook to publish your status or photos to Twitter directly. This feature is only available for Facebook Page. A Facebook Page is a special kind of profile for businesses, bands and public figures. By using this feature when you manage a Facebook Page, you can decide yourself what type of updates you want to share to Twitter. They are status updates, links, photos, notes and events. If you have multiple Facebook Page, you also can link each of those pages to different Twitter accounts. If you don’t have any, you can create it here.

In this post I will try to give you a guideline how to use this new feature. Here are:

1. Log In to your Facebook account

2. Go to http://www.facebook.com/twitter and choose “Link a Page to Twitter” button

3. Choose your Facebook Page to connect to Twitter and choose “Link to Twitter”

4. You will be directed to Twitter. Log In to your Twitter account.

Upload Photo and Video to Facebook via Email

Facebook recently added a new way to upload your photo and video by emailing them. Wow. It is really useful for everybody who always want to share immediately the photo or video after capturing it. The common method for doing this is by sending them via MMS or facebook application installed on mobile phone. Talking about the new way, the Facebook team said that we will get an unique email and we use this unique email as the destination email address when we want to send the photo or video. The process is really easy. So, how to do it? Let’s see the step

1. Login to Your Facebook and Go to Facebook Mobile Page

2. Go to Section “Upload Photos via Email”

You can see your unique email here. If you seem that your email is hard to remember, you can send it to your email address by clicking “Send my upload email to me now”. Please don’t share your unique email.

3. Open your Email and Prepare your photo or video

Insert your facebook unique email as the destination. Your email subject will be the caption for the photo. So, make sure you choose the best caption. then attach your photo and send it! If you open Facebook site, abrakadabra, you can see your recently uploaded photo there.

Customize your Wordpress URL Permalinks

Hello everyone! In this post, I would like share my experience to customize wordpress URL permalinks in order to get easy indexing of your blog from Google and other search engines. Okay, the default URL in wordpress is something like this http://www.deerawan.com/?p=123. It is horrible, isn’t it? Hmm, so, lets modify it to make it better……for this tutorial, I’m using my wordpress version 2.6.3…. (For images, I highlight the important thing with red rectangle). Here are the steps:

1. Login to your wordpress’s wp-admin
You can access it by typing http://your-domain-name/wp-admin (ex: http://www.deerawan.com/wp-admin) on your favourite browser.

2. Go to Settings option and choose Permalinks
Yes, you can see many options there for customizing your post’s URL. You also see that default format is chosen. Now, you may choose another format that is suited for you. For example, I choose Day and Name format. You can ignore the category base and tag base at the bottom.

3. Modify .htaccess file
You need it to make our customizing works. If your .htaccess file were writable, wordpress could do this automatically, but if not, you need add the mod_rewrite rules in your .htaccess file. Say that .htaccess is not writable so we need to find .htaccess first.

4. Find .htaccess file
Go to your cpanel. You can access it by typing http://your-domain-name/cpanel (ex: http://www.deerawan.com/cpanel). Go to File Manager. Check Show Hidden Files option (.htaccess is hidden file). You can find your .htaccess file in your public_html folder of your web hosting. Choose Edit to edit this file. Go to step 5

5. Add the mod_rewrite rules
You must already in text editor. Copy the rules below to .htaccess file

and choose Save Changes button. See the image below

6. Your URL has been customized, congrats!
You can see the result like this URL post. Note although that your permalinks URL based on post title, you can also modify url name when you create a new post.
