Finally, I’ve changed my old Yahoo Messenger 9 to new Yahoo Messenger 10. I thought it is time to feel the new one. Hmm…the installation process is easy. However, it is not offline installer, so you need internet connection. First impression after I run YM 10 is the interface is changed. You can choose language in your login area now. Many languages are supported start from English, Thai, Vietnam, Bahasa Indonesia, Italia, and more.

After login process, you can see two tabs inside YM 10. There are Contacts and Y! Updates. Contacts tab will display you all of your friend and Y! Updates will display all latest updates from your friends such as status.

Each tab has its own options and customizations. For Contacts tab, you can see options like “Show Offline Contacts”, “Show Empty Groups”, “Sort by Name” and many more. For Y! Updates, you can decide your friend’s status come from such as Twitter, MyBloglog, Yahoo 360 plus, Last.fm, and many more. Unfortunately, there is no from Facebook. Other customization is you can also decide which friend that you want to see the updates.

In my YM 9, I got a problem when changing my display image. After I had chosen the image, sometimes YM wouldn’t set it as my display image. That problem has been solved in this YM 10. One last feature of YM 10 is new video calling. I have not tried it due to lack of my internet speed in my location, Indonesia. Overall, YM 10 is better and worth to try.
