In my last post about multiple search engine, I wrote about Bingle, a website which displays search engine results from Google and Bing. Now, there is nowGoogle which can display until 10 results from Search Engine. Wow! You can use it if you want to see your search result in many search engines.

The results you can see are from Google, Bing, Yahoo, Ask, AlltheWeb, AOL, Lycos, Dogpile, Altavista and Clusty. Each result separated in tabs. So, you can switch to see the result from another search engine easily.

New Feature of Google Translate

Are you fanatic of translating word into another language? Yes, Google Translate is King. Many languages are provided for you as an option such as French, Spanish, Swahili, Indonesian, English, and many more. There are about 51 languages available, wow! Google Translate also has an option to translate word, webpage and even document. Cool, isn’t it?

Now, Google Translate has a new feature. It is live translate. It means that if you type a word, Google Translate will directly translate it into your desired language without press a button. It is one of cool features that Google Translate has. But if you type a webpage URL, you must press “translate” button then Google Translate will bring you into a new page contains the result of translation. For document, Google Translate can handle file as a PDF, TXT, DOC, PPT, XLS or RTF. Below is my effort to translate this website into French

Google Chrome : See Memory Usage for Each Tab

In this post, I would like to share a very useful tips when using Google Chrome. As you may know that Google Chrome separates each tabs as different process. So, if you want to know how many memory usage for each tab in Google Chrome, here is the way.

1. Go to at right top in Google Chrome Window

2. Choose “Developer” => “Task manager”

There is a shortcut for easy and faster access to open this memory usage window. You just need to press SHIFT + ESC on your keyboard. Hope this tutorial is useful for you.

Submit Your Blog to Search Engine

Chrome Experiments

In order to prepare for HTML 5 that will be a standard in modern browser, Google has launched Chrome Experiments. It is a place where we can see some innovative experiments using the power of HTML 5 and Javascript. The total of experiments is more than 50 and counting. From all, these are my favourites:

1. 100 tweets

100 tweets - HTML Canvas and Audio Tag

100 tweets aims to show 100 tweets post related to HTML 5. It is created with the support of HTML 5’s canvas and audio tag.

2. Canvas 3D engine

Canvas 3D engine

The purpose is to show some flickr images in 3D environment. It is very creative and wonderful creation. If you click on the surface, you can see a random flickr image.

3. Google Gravity

Google Gravity

This experiment shows you a Google Search page comes down. Very interesting because you can also drag each items like you can drag the logo, you can drag the search text area, you can drag the links.

4. Google Sphere

Google Sphere

Almost same like Google Gravity, it plays with Google but Google Image Search. When you enter a query, you can all the image results floating around to make sphere effect. Really cool!

5. JS Fireworks

JS Fireworks

The purpose is to create fireworks effect. The main interesting part is you can insert what text will be appeared after fireworks are launched.

6. Ball Pool

Ball Pool

It is all about making pool full of ball. Try shake your browser, all balls will move. It is very fun.

Review Google Chrome Beta

Google is still developing its great browser, Google Chrome. New version of Google Chrome will be coming out soon. Before that, Google has released its beta version (3.0.195.6). Regardless from what happens, this browser has been included with fresh features. I’ve just tried it and I’m going to make some reviews about these new features.

1. New Tab Revolution

Google Chrome has made some improvements step to make New Tab page better. Now, it has “pin” to make a website always appears on page and “close” to make a website is not showed on page. You decide this. You can also see two views here, they are Thumbnail View and List View. Last, you can customize its layout for filtering what information you want to see. The default layout consist of Thumbnail, Recent Activities and Even More.

2. Themes

Now, you can customize Google Chrome skin. There are 29 skins available at first time. You can choose what your favourite is. Google said that they will add more themes for its release version. It is great features from Google Chrome.

3. Improved Omnibox

Omnibox is name of address bar where you always type your destination url. The improvement is your suggested urls are iconized now. It will help you distinguish between suggested sites, searches, bookmarks, and sites from your browsing history.

4. HTML 5 Support

Of course, Google Chrome will support the next generation of HTML, HTML 5. I still don’t get further information about this but it will handle video tag and web workers.

6. Speedier, Faster and Smarter

We need this. Faster is better while browsing. Google Chrome has been impoved its engine to make it faster than before. Google Chrome is also smarter because it will prioritize pages for example when you open new page while other page is still loading, Google Chrome will display content for your new page first than old one.

Conclusion

Even though it is still beta, Google Chrome is still worth to try. I’m using it right now and I feel satisfy with it. The release version will be very much better than beta. So, be patient for that.

Google Wave

Google will launched its new services, it is Google Wave. Google Wave is a tool to enable you to do collaboration on web. You can communicate and work together with richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more. It is real time and live. It also has concurrent technology so many people can edit document at same time. Spell correction when editing is also supported similar like Microsoft Word’s spelling corrector.

You can also extend Google Wave because it opens its API such as maybe insert your social facebook widget into it. Google Wave will be available later this year.

WolframAlpha beats Google

Never heard about WolframAlpha? This is a new search engine but not ordinary search engine. It is a computational knowledge search engine. Instead of searching web, the result of WolframAlpha is from computations of its own knowledge base. In other words, the result is not only web and link but answer. So, this will be the main benefit of using WolframAlpha than Google.

So, let test the ability of WolframAlpha by inserting some questions.

1. Who is the president of United States?

2. Where is tokyo?
Wow, the result is not only Tokyo but also a map of it. It sounds great, isn’t it?

3. tan x
Yup, another things I want to try is inserting mathematic formula. Let’s check the result.
