If you have Sony’s products such as Sony Ericsson phones or Sony Playstation Portable (PSP), you must not pass this application. Media Go is an application to manage your device contents like music and video. You can also get connected to online store like PlayNow and Playstation Store to buy digital content directly from Media Go. Hehehe, almost similar with iTunes. How about supported file format? Here is the detail that I took from Sony’s website.

Supported File Formats

Audio: .3gp, .flac , .m4a, .m4b, .mp4, .mp3, .wav, .wma

Video: .3gp , *.avi, .m4v, .mnv, .mp4, .mov, .o4v (OMA), .odf, .qt, .wmv

Image: .bmp, .gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .tga, .tif, .tiff

If you have media files in your library that are supported by your device but Media Go does not play, the files are categorized as Other Files. These files are still available for transfer to your device by Media Go, but are not re-encoded and not playable by Media Go: .3ga, .aac, .amr, .awb, .imy, .ra, .rm, .mid, .svg, .swf, and .xmf.

*Some encoding formats, such as DivX and Xvid often use an .avi file extension. Support for files encoded with these formats may require you to have the appropriate MPEG-4 video codecs installed on your computer.

How about the minimum system requirements? Here is the information that I took from Sony’s website

Finally, Sony has announced its new portable gaming device continuing PSP series. Sony calls it PSP Go. This device will be sold at October 1, this year. How does it look like? It is really different comparing to previous, totally different. Below is the PSP Go image.

How about the features? is it also different with previous PSP? The PSP Go removes UMD slot then gamers are forced to buy games digitally by downloading via Playstation Store. The size of PSP Go is smaller and also lighter. Here is the detail specification of PSP Go

Because there is no UMD, Sony provide 16GB internal storage to keep your games more. There is also bluetooth for easy file or game transfer between gamers. Last, it will be sold at price $249, more expensive than PSP 3000. I can’t say that the price is worth for its features.

Following PSP Go, some cool games also will be launched like Metal Gear Solid : Peacewalker and Gran Turismo.

Tiff exploit is Found on Firmware 5.50

This is really great news for PSP owners who has firmware 5.50 including me. As you know davee and team Typhoon has released HEN for firmware 5.03 and unfortunately I have already installed firmware 5.50. Okay talking about tiff exploit, these are videos of how the tiff exploit is found. Check this out

Actually, I have never tried homebrew app indeed. I just want to feel using it on my PSP 3000 and it must be really great if I can. Hope davee and team typhoon can make it come true.

Yeaah, PSP has released its new firmware 5.50, lets we take a look what is the major updates for this firmware.

PSP 3000

Some features has been included in firmware 5.50 such as

1. Memory stick improvements
You can create and access subfolders on your memory stick for photos, music and video.

2. Trend Micro trial
With support of Trend Micro will make your browsing activity more secure. You can also try two free trial Trend Micro services,

Trend Micro Web Security uses Web reputation technology to block PSP owners from accidentally visiting a Web site that may contain malicious content designed to steal personal information and confidential data.
Trend Micro Kids’ Safety uses URL filtering technology to prevent children from accessing Web sites that feature inappropriate content

3. Internet search for games directly from the XMB
You will be able to search information about your PSP games on Internet easily. This feature is same with PS3.

4. Improved XMB
There will be information board on PSP XMB like on PS3. You will be updated with news and updates from Playstation world. So you’ll be able to read up-to-date information about upcoming games, new content available on PlayStation Store, and other news right on your PSP whenever you’re connected to a wireless Internet hotspot.

However, this firmware can’t still be cracked because Sony uses different encryption and it can’t be decrypted with latest pspdumper. Sony has taken great effort to prevent piracy on its firmware.
