Create Application Shortcut with Google Chrome

This is such a cool feature from Chrome. If you are addicted to a website such as Facebook or Twitter, you can create a shortcut to allow you directly access your favorite website. This shortcut can be placed on Desktop, Start Menu or Quick Launch as like as common shortcut. In this post, I’m going to show the detail step how to create application shortcut with Google Chrome.



1. Open your favourite website with Google Chrome Browser
2. Go to this icon at right top of Chrome

3. Choose the most top option “Create application shortcuts…”

4. You can choose where you want to put your shortcut. There are three locations: Desktop, Shortcut Menu and Quick Launch Bar.

5. Voila……That’s it. If you choose “Desktop” you can see your shortcut there.

Next time if you want to access your favourite website, you just click this shortcut and Google Chrome will open its shortcut window. The main difference between the browser and its shorcut window is this window doesn’t have tabs, menu, address bar, and bookmark. But if you click a link in new tab inside shortcut window, it will be opened in the browser.
